March 2, 2006.  Thursday.  I woke up at 7am.  I finally got out of bed at 10am.  DVD's are moving fast.  I have mailed out 5 more today.  I only have 100 from the duplicator so get one before I am out.  I have about 65 left.

I checked email and had some great news to start off the day.  Maureen from VPOP which is the server where stevekay.com is located sent me an email that said the following:

Hi Steve,

I just wanted to let you know that we are not going to charge for your Web site hosting going forward. You have been such a longtime and loyal customer and we have appreciated your business in the past. We keep up to date with you via your Web site update pages. It is a little thing for us to comp the pages you host with us. I'm not sure of the right words to type in an email to say that we wish you much comfort during this time and I pray that you are surrounded by loving people.

Kind regards,

 Maureen

After I read the email I started to cry.  I felt very grateful and moved by this action.  Wow!!!

Lydia arrived on time at 10:15am.  She got the handicap placard and ran my bath.  I made some Apple and strawberry juice with my juicer.  I had it with my meds and took my bath.  After the bath Lydia helped me dress.  She left and Shelly from Westside arrived.

Shelly stayed for 45 minutes and said she would contact Open Hand and set it up so I could do an intake over the phone.  She also said she would call the Lymphoma Society and get the form for $500 re-imbursement that they have.  She called later and we chatted.  She did what she said she would.

I decided to go to Safeway and get some salad dressing that I was having trouble describing to Cheryl.  I called Safeway before hand because I had seen someone on an electric scooter.  I asked customer if I could it.  They said I could.  I asked if I needed a reservation.  They said "no, it was first come first serve".  I then asked "Then what do I do just come over there and wait until someone is done?".  The said hold on a minute.  When they came back on the line they said that one scooter was broken but there was one working and it was available right now.  I told them that it would take me about an hour to get there.  They said they would plug it in and charge it.  I said great.  I found out I was supposed to ask for Julie when I got to the store.

Off I went.  I walked to 8th and Market.  I was huffing and puffing.  It is definitely more difficult to breath now.  I stopped a couple of times just going 2 blocks.  I got to the stairs at 8th and Market and stopped for about 2 minutes just to settle my breathing.  I headed down the stairs slowly.  I got to the train and waited.  A J CHURCH was coming in 3 minutes.  I got on.  I got off at the stop where my haircutter Danielle works.  I went in and gave here a copy of the film.  I had promised her one.  I then went to Safeway.  I found Julie and got my scooter.  I felt like I was back in Vegas again.  I went slow down every aisle and checked out prices and specials.  I found a few things and some great deals.  I found the salad dressing that I wanted.  It was sun dried tomato with spices.  I also just had a great time.  I ended up in the store for 1 1/2 hours.  I didn't feel rushed and just enjoyed being able to take my time going thru the store.  I finished up in the deli and got some chicken salad and some macaroni and cheese.  I went to go pay and even though I had collected $35 in groceries I only paid $25 because I had bought things that gave me a big discount.

I put some of my groceries in my black bag.  The rest I kept in a plastic bag.  Off I went.  I got on an N JUDAH train.  I got off at Vanness and Market.  I then took a F train to 9th and Market.  I was 45 minutes early to meet Carlos for my 3pm appointment for therapy.  I sat and waited until 3pm.  Carlos came out and we had our session.  I left after that and headed home.

When I arrived Maria Elena was already at my apartment.  She was well underway on working.  She finished and I gave her a copy of my film.  She was very moved by my actions.  She started crying.  I told her it was alright.  God will look after me and God will look after her.  She gave me a big hug and I told her I would see her on Monday.  She has been my house keeper for over 15 years and I am very grateful to have her be able to help me.  She is now paid by IHSS so I don't have to pay her out of my pocket.

After she left I had a salad I made from chopped avocado, chopped celery, and bay shrimp.  I used my new salad dressing and waited for Matt.

He showed up at 6pm and we started filing.  We worked hard tonight.  We finished!!!  Wow I didn't think I would ever finish filing all of that before I died.  I told Matt I wanted to celebrate our task.  We agreed to go to dinner next Monday.  I really appreciate his help.  I told him how grateful that I am that I have people like him that actively support me during this declining of life process.  I told him because of all of the people who are supporting me I don't feel alone.  I am just grateful that God is keeping me alive.  I know that I am still here because he has a plan for me and he is not done using me yet.  When he is ready to take me I will go.

I watched Law and Order after Matt left and typed this update.

That's it for today.  It was another quality day.  I really liked my scooter ride at Safeway.  That was cool.
