MY UPDATE PAGE
March 8, 2006. Wednesday. I woke up at about 6am and couldn't breath. I was having a hard time taking a deep breath. I tried some Albuterol. I was wheezing too. I then got up and sat in the black chair. I seemed to be a little better. I turned on the concentrator in the bathroom and hooked up the oxygen to a 3liter/minute rate. It calmed me down. I then returned to bed with the oxygen on and slept for a couple more hours. I woke up when Lydia arrived. She came in a 9:10am and got the handicap placard and off to her car after she started the water.
When she returned I asked her if my keys had fallen out of my pocket yesterday. She said that they had but she put them back. I explained the whole story about the panic that we had yesterday because she put them in my back pocket and I didn't think to look there. She was sorry. I told her it was ok and it could have been a handled a lot easier if I could have called her on her cell phone but I have specific instructions of how to deal with stuff.
Lydia left at around 10am. Jose was on his way to the city. He arrived and we did errands for a while and then had lunch. We bought a BBQ Beef sandwich from the Cheese Steak shop. It was 15 inches ling so we had them cut it in half and wrap each half separately. We ended up eating in the car because of the logistics of what we were doing.
Jose dropped me off back at the house and I came upstairs and started playing play money poker about 3pm. I played and won. I continued to win and win and win. I the middle of all of that I got several phone calls. Howard Meehan called and confirmed our outing on Sunday at 12:30pm. I talked to Project Open hand. They will do a phone interview tomorrow to set me up for free meal delivery. I have been approved for some time but haven't been able to get over to see them.
Cheryl called and said that she had been trying to get me but my phone line was busy. I didn't understand that because I was only on one line. I have call waiting. I think I will have to call Sprint to see what is going on.
Cheryl showed up about 5pm. He had all of the stuff on my list plus she had made some butternut squash soup. I had some before and I really like it. I talked to her about sitting when I get to the end. When I am bed bound and am no longer ambulatory I will need people to sit and just hang out here for me. Cheryl said she would love to do that. I asked her if she knew any other people that might be interested. She said a lot of people would. I think it would be a good idea to line people up now while I am still able to walk around rather than wait until it is to late. I have chosen to die in this apartment if it is possible. I do not want to return to a hospice facility if I don't have to.
If any of you readers have any suggestions for people that would be interested in helping with this please let me know and we can figure out a way for this to happen.
While Cheryl was here I had myself dealt out from the poker but as soon as she left I continued. I played and played. In the end I won a whopping 7.5 million dollars in one session. It is the most money that I have every one. I now have a grand total of 172 million. When I left Maitri in August of 2005 I had 83 million. I just started learning how to play poker at Maitri about a year and a half ago. It is amazing that I have learned the game as well as I have. I am very comfortable playing for play money. I don't have the bank roll to play this way for real. It is ok with me.
I ended up being the last man sitting at the table and so I had to leave.
I had another quality day. I really liked hanging out with Jose. We have always clicked and we see stuff from the same perspective. Did I tell you he named his son after me? Well he did. He named him Daniel Estaban Bobadilla. Estaban is Steve in Spanish. Jose has also asked me to be his Godfather. I am very proud to be asked and hope I am able to serve him while I am still here. There is more to come on this. Keep watching these updates.
I know I need a new pix on the updates. I think I will take one tomorrow. I also have taken the promotion for DVD and made it a little less present. I am running out of tapes. I have had a lot of people requesting them.
