MY UPDATE PAGE
March 17, 2006. Friday. I got up at 3am and was having a hard time breathing. I started off taking an Ativan and waiting for a half hour. I calmed down but still couldn't get a deep breath. I finally decided to talk some morphine. I put 5 drops under my tongue. I was able to sleep for 4 hours. That is the most I have been able to sleep in a row for a while. When I did wake up I had a lot of green gunk in my lungs. I then coughed for probably an hour and a half. I couldn't seem to get anything to come up. I finally did. I kept putting it in tissues. Eventually I got most of it out for the time being. I then went back to sleep for another hour. Then I started off the day at 9:15am when Lydia arrived. She ran my bath and then in I went. She helped me dress and left about 10am. I didn't have any visitors scheduled for today so I laid down and took a nap. I got up at about 1pm and talked on the phone for a while. I got several calls.
Open hand came by and delivered my food at 3:20pm. I had some Irish stew with potatoes and green beans for lunch.
By 5pm I wanted to get out of the house. It had been a nice day but I was inside. I don't feel safe going out by myself right now. I get very winded just going a few feet. I thought I would call Michael. He was going to see Howard Meehan perform tonight in Berkeley but I thought it would be to much for me. But Michael came and got me and took me to Fisherman's wharf to In and Out burger. We got a burger, fries, and a drink and drove to the end of the pier and watched the sunset as we ate out food. Michael then took me home.
I played poker for quite a while and was up and down. I watched Law and Order and got a few more phone calls.
I am watching the Tonight Show right now as I type this update.
